Stranger Worth is a collaboration between painters, Pamela Holmes and Patrick Gourley. Ivy Stranger and Ernst Worth stand as alter egos of Holmes/ Gourley. This stance aids the artists to step outside their own artistic habits, likes and dislikes. ISEW is their signature. We have named this collaboration Eachin- a space beyond individual identity, where imagination leads, logic dissolves, and movement becomes language.

Our Artist Statement

EACHIN
A collision of natures. When tied together,
we act as one; that one is only distinguished by being together.
We come together, deciding to subvert our personal perceptions to express, embody, and explore our awareness of shared consciousness made available by collaborative effort. We are both secure that neither of us could have made these paintings alone. We access unfamiliar realities more than we would as solo artists.
Eachin must challenge identity, remove personal reference points, and disrupt human-centered logic.

Eachin embraces the imagination.
Eachin throws out possibilities forever.
Eachin is abundant.
Eachin is a record of two bodies in movement.
Eachin asks what the universe wants.

Eachin steps away from the personal and opens up to the collective.
Eachin does not need translation.
Eachin welcomes surrender over resistance.
Eachin is playful.
Eachin is Intimate.
Eachin embraces and encourages the random, the flukes, and the unexpected.
Eachin carries no suitcases.

Eachin attempts to think like a network rather than an individual, removing the need for self identification. We must unlearn linear individualistic thinking, instead adopt the behavior of systems that already function collectively.
